Olympic Goals & Dreams

Thursday, August 25th, 2016

This past Summer, two breakout runners from the Boulder-based, Zensah & Brooks supported Roots Running Project competed for their first time in the US Olympic Track & Field Trials. Alia Gray & Noah Droddy’s advice & inspiration was something we wanted to share with all aspiring runners.

“Put yourself in the company of good people, whether that be training partners, coaches, or sponsors. You may be the one on the start line, but it will take a village to get you there.”

– Noah Droddy

We asked, they answered:

  • Have you ever run for a larger crowd?
  • Did the big stage inspire you to run faster or shell-shock you?
  • Are you already thinking about 2020?
  • (Alia) How do you deal with an injury flaring up so close to race day?
  • If you could do the race over again, what would you do differently?
  • What advice would you give any aspiring professional runners?

Running Accessories to Brighten Up Winter

Thursday, November 12th, 2015

Winter officially begins Dec 21st but we know certain places around the World are already feeling the weather turning. So before we go into hibernation mode, we have some suggestions for taking your winter from dull to fun.

Also important to keep in mind, if you are running outdoors it is almost mandatory to wear high visibility colors to ensure you are seen.

Winter usually means saying goodbye to shorts and wearing black tights. Have you ever tried wearing your compression leg sleeves with your black capris?

Here we added the neon pink compression sleeves under our black recovery capri. This way your legs stay warm and you still get some color in your outfit.

Zensah Athlete – Laura Anderson

Tuesday, October 13th, 2015

Name: Laura Anderson

Hometown: Rochester, NY

Sport: Running

Years in current sport: 10+ years

What got you started: I went out for track in junior high because everyone told me I should; I spent years running around on a soccer field. That turned into an instant love, I continued as a track athlete in high school and into college. After college I got pretty sick and spent some time in the hospital; when I was finally on the upswing I started walking and then running to get stronger again. That turned into my first 5k, then 10k, half marathon, and eventually my first marathon. Here we are 50+ 5k’s, 20+ Half Marathon’s, and 10+ marathons later—talk about a snowball effect.
